Not been writing much as I was involved in an almost-head-on with a French lorry on the 2nd November. I went round a bend and it was all the way over on my side of the road
Pics of my poor car are below:

It’s now in the hands of the insurers, as it’s a total loss

Not bad, not bad at all
We had my in-laws around for a evening meal mostly consisting of pizza (that’s right - we’re classy people
). My son decorated the table the night before Halloween with all sorts of spooky things aided by my wife, who decorated the entire room with cobwebs, spiders, and a hand-made stuffed witch. The meal went well (I still feel quite full now) and then my in-laws scarpered back to their house to prepare for us coming trick or treating later.
Whilst my wife was preparing all the food (it wasn’t just pizza, y’know), I started carving my last pumpkin, the pukey one. I quickly scribbled on a design from memory and started carving, going back to it between courses. When it was finished, I placed it outside on a stone post, and atrfully draped the “vomit” from out of the mouth, onto the post, and then to the floor. Seeing as some trick or treaters wandering past went “uuuhhhhrrrrr!”, I considered my work done.
We then all went out trick or treating (after leaving a bucket of treats by the door), and my wife split off to go on ahead to the in-laws, whilst I took my son around a rather generous estate, where the people have really made an effort and are very friendlt. Unfortunately, there did not seem to be as many trick or treaters as last year, and a few of the houses didn’t have any welcoming signs, but those that did had anything from a few pumpkins in the window to full, gruesome displays. Needless to say, my son loved it and made out like a bandit
We then dropped in at the in-laws to pick up some more treats (I had one in the form of a glass of wine), and then headed back to clear up the bombsite of a kitchen. All in all, a very good Halloween, but I hope a few more kids come calling next year…
…so I can eat their brains…..mmmm, brains
