Big Brother is watching you (as you surf, text, email)

I read recently that a failed government (e.g. this AWFUL Labour one) can go either of two ways: 1) die quietly, capitulate if you will or 2) seek to oppress everyone and every thing. Guess which way this shower of shit have decided to play it?

Every phone call, email or website visit ‘to be monitored’

I was going to summarise the article, but the title says it all: pretty much any online activity (and texting) will be monitored and stored on a big database (you know, one of those really secure ones that Labour are so good at and never leak or sell data from). Needless to say, this is a disgusting abuse of our privacy, and various civil liberties groups and the information commissioner are rightly concerned.

But it’s not enough to be concerned: we have to do something about it. Using TheyWorkForYou.com, write to your MP and tell them what you think of this heinous monitoring. Whatever happened to our right of privacy? Bloody socialist statism, that’s what!

The move is being foisited upon us under the guise of protecting us against terrorism – like those twelve suspected terrorists arrested a couple of weeks ago and, er, released without charge (there’s now an independent investigation into the operation, as it seems quite botched). As for the “terrorists will kill you so we need to protect you by restricting your rights” argument, here’s what my good friend Benjamin Franklin said: “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Now write to your MP!
