Two videos for your enjoyment

Well, it beats doing a real, researched blog post at 11:36pm ;)

First off, as I’m a fan of pratfalls and slapstick, a chap call Larry Griswold (Clark’s dad?) on The Frank Sinatra show. Now, I do a lot of falling over, but this guy does a lot more and walks away unscathed, quite a talent. It’s basically a high dive routine, but the guy’s a bit drunk and unsteady:

Next, a trailer for a new film called Battle For Los Angeles – it looks like Independence Day + War Of The Worlds + Skyline, but, you know, better:

Warning: the trailer allegedly contains the Brown Note, but no effects were observed :)

That was courtesy of First Showing, where you really should go to read more about the film and just in general, as it’s a great site for films :)

Polo Sucker or Cruncher = inane

So, on the bottom of my MSN app, there’s the following ad:

“Are you a Polo (R) Sucker or Cruncher. Take the test to find out!”

Leaving aside the unforgivable exclusion of a question mark (yes, I’m a grammar nazi), I suggest that people who need to take a test to find out if they suck or crunch a Polo shouldn’t be out in public on their own ;)

Absolutely on 4OD

I know this may not be news to everyone, but Channel 4′s On Demand player is available on YouTube. More happily, it contains one of the greatest comedy sketch shows known to man: Absolutely.

No, that’s the name of the programme, Absolutely. As the site itself says: “Many years ago, before The Fast Show, Big Train or Little Britain, came this influential Scottish sketch show. A splendid blend of comedy craft and surreal lunacy”.

I’ll second the surreal lunacy remark, but the comedy mostly comes from making the normal slightly bizarre, such as the council meeting of Stoneybridge Council in French. And Frank Hovis’ wisdom whilst he’s sitting on the toilet is truly inspirational…

So, take some time out and watch some shows, it’s rather brilliant. If you’d like to buy the DVD from Amazon containing all four series, please use the link below – I get money! ;)

LOTR vuvuzela

Now this, by something called PistolShrimps, is just inspired – those vuvuzelas get everywhere!

Bloody vuvuzelas… Over 2 million views is quite impressive :)

Family Guy’s take on The Empire Strikes Back

I’m a big Family Guy fan, and enjoyed their take on Star Wars, titled Blue Harvest. Here’s their next offering, Something Something Something Dark Side:

The AT-AT holding its shin made me post this :-)

A very clever advert for Ninja Gaiden II Sigma

Well, I never finished Nija Gaiden II on the Xbox 360 as I found it rock-hard, but this is a clever piece of advertising:

8-bit + techno + Lego = awesomeness

Seriously, you think you’ve seen it all, and yet people still come up with creative, amazing ways of entertaining everyone. This, from the Swedish techno-pop duo called Rymdreglage, is a real “retro” blast. If you grew up with loading games off tape, you’ll enjoy it:
