With the taxpayer propping up Northern Rock for £100billion, and the Labour looking like it will have to borrow £90billion (twice the projected borrowing), why is Gordon Brown spending an extra £1 billion on child care and £300 million on providing free broadband to “impoverished” families (bottom of article)? You can get online for free at your local library!
That’s mine and yours and our children’s bloody money he’s frittering away, and taxes will have to increase to pay for these schemes and the debt Labour have put us in. What’s worse is that it will probably be the Conservatives who will have to put taxes up after Labour’s “scorched earth” spending plans, and they won’t be liked for it. Labour have been an awful infliction on this country – I’m sure they mean well, but in many areas, spending has increased and services have been cut or delivery of services is piss-poor (e.g. my mum’s dislocated shoulder being missed by the NHS).
